Sonia Pullins is an artist currently living in Anchorage, Alaska, specializing in acrylics,as well as dye on silk.
"I've always been an artist. I've found it is not a title to be achieved, but something constantly being pursued and experienced. Creating art, for me, is primarily about observing the world around me and capturing the experience. It is not often easy, but always exhilarating. My hope is that in sharing my work with others, they too will get a sense of a place.....to envision themselves in the scene and long for more."
Sonia was born and raised in southern California, but later moved to Colorado where she met and married her husband, Jay. Being married to a military man provided the opportunity to experience a wide variety of cultures and locales, before settling in Alaska in 2000. She and Jay have two sons, Michael and Cody. When not painting, she also enjoys teaching art classes, kayaking, hiking and traveling.
